New sticker reactions in iMessage

I was really looking forward to those new sticker reactions in iMessage, as they allow almost Slack-like Emoji reactions. It works fine in iOS, but in Sonoma 14.2 I can only access recent stickers, custom stickers ans Memojis, but not the complete list of Emojis.

Are they serious?? Am I using it wrong?!

I cannot even drag&drop an emoji from the common emoji selector onto a message, it alway goes to the message text field 🤦‍♂️
