so i purchased a rev. b dual 1.8 and was expecting a pioneer superdrive, but it appears that it's actually a LG GWA-4082B; according to:

http://www.cdrlabs.com/reviews/index.php?reviewid=226

which reviews the "GSA-4082B" (note the "s" instead of the "w"), this drive, "[Offers] support for both the DVD-Multi and DVD+ReWritable specifications, these drives have the ability to write to all major DVD formats, including DVD-RAM."

i just called lg, it seems that the tech specs are the same for the GSA-4082B and GWA-4082B, the GWA is just a "slim-line" oem model.

I also thought I would be getting the Pioneer but I got LG GWA-4082B instead.
So is this drive better than Pioneer?
Is there a firmware to make this drive burn 16X?
