This is my first post here. I actually almost never post on message boards, but, in this case, I felt the need. I have been a LONGtime user of Windows, and, through the seemingly common course of events, have become disenfranchised. Blah, blah, blah.
When it came time to look at new machines, my aversion to the gaudy, irritating (dys)functionality of Vista steered me toward Apple. I must say, after having my MBP for about 3 weeks now, that it was the best thing I have ever done.
I spent a long time researching which computer I should get, and reading the posts here in an effort to educate myself as much as possible. One thing I did notice, however, that there were a lot of posts of people with problems with their new laptops (stuck pixels, yellow LCDs, etc.). This, admittedly, frightened me, but I asked a lot of questions in the store, and eventually felt comfortable making the switch.
I want to say that I have had NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER with my new machine. It is killer, and I am excited every day to use it. In fact, it bums me out when I have to use my Dell Laptop for certain IT things (I haven't messed with bootcamp or parallels yet).
I understand that it is much more likely for people to post with problems and questions than praise...so I hope this finds those who are a little worried about the issues that seem ubiquitous on these boards.
Thanks, too, to those of you who answer questions of other newbies without the dripping disdain that plagues other boards. It has, until now, kept me from having to post here.
I look forward to my tenure as an Apple customer.
peace.
