My new 15" MBP with touch bar is so far working fine. Yesterday something odd happened though and I'm wondering if I should be concerned or if it's just a software glitch.

I plugged in the USB C charger (the official one) and my MacBook immediately SCREAMED at me with an unbelievably hard, alarming distortion sound as loud as it could. The sound did not stop unless I muted the MacBook and it did not get quieter when I lowered the volume.

It was so loud that I was afraid my speakers would blow out. This does not seem to be the case. They work fine.

The sound stopped after a restart and hasn't happened since. I can't seem to recreate it.

What happened before: I switched from one to another user by using Touch ID in battery use and then plugged the cord in. That's when the sound started.

Is anyone familiar with this?Should I be concerned? Should I let it check through at the Genius Bar?

Thanks
