Hooked it all up back up 2 macs, all is well. Even got the security cams going on it. but not sure why the HDD in it does not show on the desk top but all the programs show it in the list of HDD's to pick from. Normal?

Also runs very warm, Im sure thats just the way it is, but with that heat and an HDD I'm sure they don't last more then just about an apple care extension would run out lol

Shure Finder is set to show networked drives at the desktop?

Finder -> Prefrences -> General -> Connected Servers

On the heat issue: Mine runs pretty much at body temprature, but the drive is usually inactive. I can hear it spin up when it initiates backups or if I access files on the drive. So it might just be a result of having multiple devices connected (Cams, multiple macs). Making the harddrive more active and thus generating more heat.
