new to android... really basic newbie question

so i have been team iPhone forever and just got the HTC One.

for the life of me i can't figure out how to re-arrange icons on the same screen

i have ADW launcher installed

i assumed you could move them around with a long press but when i do that it either moves them into a group with the icon next to it or moves to another screen

what am i missing here?

1. Don't use ADW Launcher. If you do not like sense 5 (was there a reason for installing adw) then use the two most popular JellyBean supported launchers.

Both significantly better than ADW,

2. Moving icons is a case of just moving them around on your home screens, if however you are trying to move them in your app drawer that can be harder work.

3. If it is your app drawer why not go back to HTC sense. In the app drawer pull down to reveal the settings menu under the weather widget. Click on the three dots and choose grid size. Change this to 4 x 5

Then on the opposite side to the settings menu where it says alphabetical / most recent - tap on that and choose 'custom'.

You can now move icons around same way as iOS and put them in your own order and divided into folders etc...
