New To Apple Need Help

Hi im new to apple and was woundering if i buy and iphone today will i be able to upgrade the firmware later to get 3g or do i have to wait for the new phone to come out if i want 3g thanks for the help

Try a search first.

But 3G is hardware, and not software. You need a certain chip in order to have access to 3G. Therefore, you will need to wait until a new iPhone comes out with 3G.
