new to Bootcamp

I'm thinking about installing Windows XP on my Macbook via Bootcamp. Since I don't have an external HD at the moment, I was wondering if it is possible to install XP on a seperate partition on my internal hard drive that my Mac can also access. That way, I can access files and folders located within windows. how can I set it up this way?
