HI Everyone,

Hope all of you and your families are safe and healthy. I am relatively new to the forum and have a question that I was hoping some of you would be able to answer.

I am thinking about buying a Macbook Pro (my preference is the 13" $1,800 variant due to size but am open to the base 16"as well). I would like to pair it with an Ultrawide monitor (49" non 1080P) and was wondering if this is possible. I have seen YouTube videos where people have done it, but then in the comment section, commenters state that they are not able to get very good resolution with it. Same goes with Amazon in the answer section. You will have one person say that they love their setup with a MBP and an ultra-wide and then a few comments lower someone else says that they are having issues. So which is it? At the end of the day, I can continue to use two monitors, but if it is possible to use 1 49" monitor (or Samsung's 43"), I would prefer that setup to eliminate the bezel I have with 2 monitors.

Thanks In Advance

The 13" has no discreet graphics chip and only uses integrated graphics. It will work with an external monitor, but if you are wanting good graphics performance on it, ie. for gaming or video editing, you should go with the 16". Just watching videos should be fine on the 13"

People are saying they're having trouble with this. Maybe because they're trying to run it at 120hz? The spec says 60hz max at those high resolutions. Hard to know. If you want the 13" maybe get a simple eGPU. That sounds like its working for most.
