Hi
I've read threads about the good and bad points to upgrading iPhones to the new 5, but I'm looking for thoughts for a new user.
I have a new iPad which I'm still running OS5 on, but I've never had an iPhone.
So I'm really looking at whether I should go straight in for the new 5 or pick a 4s which lots of people still seem to prefer.
Hands on the size isn't going to be the clincher for me, more everyday use. So those with experience of both, what would you recommend?
Thanks

If you can afford it, the 5 (why buy the old out of choice?)

If you are short of cash, not working, or don't like to pay top price for your tech, buy a 4S.

Your in it for two years so get the newest model. You'll thank yourself in 2014.

I'd stick with the 4s off Craigslist and save your upgrade for a 5s a year from now.

Better design, better ecosystem, jailbreak available if 5.1.1, and full iOS 6 if you want.

Get the 5. Compared to the 4s, the 5 is much faster, has a bigger and better screen, better speakers, faster Internet, much better front facing camera and more. The 4s is a good phone but the 5 is the better phone no doubt about it!. Try them side by side and you'll see what I mean.

If you're new to the iPhone, you definitely should get the iPhone 5. The only real reason to get a 4S would be because of the utilization of older accessories. Since you're going to be picking up new accessories with a new phone anyways, you might as well get an iPhone 5.

Better design?

"Full" iOS 6? As opposed to what on the iP5?

Here are some straws for you to clutch
