So I'm looking at an I phone 3G 8gig tomorrow its in very nice condition and the seller says its unlocked and she has been using her T mobile sim card and the T mobile network with the phone. she tells me its got the 3.1 OS and works perfectly. Is there anything I should be looking for as I check out the phone? I plan to insert my sim card and make a test phone call other than that what other issues should I look at

BTW i do not plan to get a data plan just use WIFI from time to time

Thanks

Vincent
new guy and new to I phone

Check the modern firmware (baseband). If it's 5.13 and below, you can unlock it with Ultrasnow. To find it, on the phone, settings > general > about.

You can never be too sure with these sales. Check that the firmware and OS is indeed as described. Check the sound, camera, buttons, etc to make sure everything is working.

Thanks ..Got the phone today looks new. the young woman who owned it is a trainer for T mobile. My sim card went in and imported my contacts. now just getting a chance to play with it, it found my home network and I was able to checked my email. I like it, a lot different then my blackberry
