After much thinking about getting another Samsung and owning Android devices since 2010 I have finally ordered a IPhone 11 as it was a hell of a lot cheaper on contract than the Samsung Galaxy S20.
ordered the Green one. Now I have always used Google photos and have my photos backed up from 2015 and use this on my iPad Pro and it works flawlessly. However my banking apps can I download the apps onto my iPad and then when I get my phone sign into my iCloud account and will they transfer over to my phone?

Also is it worth getting a USB C to lighting cable to use with my iPad Pro charger for fast charging my new phone? Or just using my old iPad Air 2 charger I have knocking about?

Im gonna miss my S9’s oled screen but I mainly use my iPad for media and phone for web browsin, forums and for taking pictures when I don’t want to lug my DSLR around.

If you sign into same Apple account, then yes the apps do auto-download on all devices. It's really convenient.

Try your existing iPad charger to see if if's fast enough. It's likely fast enough.

If you want a little bit faster charging, this article describes a few options for iPhone charger.

If you back up your iPad, for example to iCloud, you can apply that backup to the phone when it arrives and it will have the same setup later.

You can use pretty much any of these chargers, and there should be one in the box too. Fast charging is optional, maybe see how you manage with the one that comes in the box and decide later.
There is of course also the option to charge wirelessly.

I would say welcome to the evil empire but I see you have an iPad Pro so are already tainted with Apple sauce. You just aren't going to have problems because you're already an expert, but there are banking apps and banking apps; they may differ. I'm with First Direct - totally recommend them - and their mobile banking app both requires biometric ID, which is normal and sensible, and can only be installed on one device. I contacted them about this and argued that if my iPhone is lost/stolen/struck by a meteorite then it would be handy to also have the app on my iPad or a backup phone, but the answer was a big No. What I'm saying is it may not be possible to have your banking app duplicated on your iPad and iPhone, mainly due to EU Strong Customer Authentication regulations. Thought we'd left the EU? Not quite.

No such limitation with my banking apps of choice, and this is in the EU. Must be a bank-specific limitation in your case.

No reason to use banking apps. All the banks (that make apps) have fully functional websites. The app just looks a little prettier- but always has to be updated.

The banking websites are fine, but you have to keep entering certain credentials each time. Personally for me, the banking apps make life easier as they usually allow Touch ID/ Face ID authentication to get quick and secure access.

Also from previous experience when getting my iPad Air 3, when I signed into my iCloud account, the apps from my iPhone did NOT auto download for some reason. When I went into the App Store to start downloading my apps, it did have the little cloud symbol next to each app that I had on my iPhone, but I had to search for them manually.

Not universally true. The banking apps we have available function as the "possession" factor of the strong customer identification scheme required by the European PSD2 directive. A website can't fill that function.

Some banks do of course offer other "possession" factors, such as code lists or code generator fobs. But fully-featured banking apps are definitely more useful than banks' websites.

I currently have my main banking app on my iPad currently at works great with Face Id, gets me to enter my security number twice a week.
just need to transfer my two credit card banking apps on and Spotify, sky go, Netflix etc.
I absolutely love my iPad it’s completely replaced my need for a computer these days.
I don’t utilise the the full customisations of Android anymore, my main priorities are a good camera and decent battery life, I don’t need a £1100 S20 for that.
However I couldn’t drop down to a A series Samsung due to the lack of ip68. And riding a motorbike to commute and living in Northern England is not a good combination for a none water resistant phone.

True of some banks, not all. My wife's bank, which is Lloyds, allows web access to all banking functions, and this can be done by anyone in possession of the passwords. But with my bank First Direct logging on via the web requires a one-time security code that can only be generated by the biometric ID verified phone app. Without my phone I simply cannot logon.

For non-Brits, First Direct and Lloyds are both UK retail banking names.

Yeah I’m with nationwide, and if I forget my card I can just transfer money across to my other half etc whilst out and about. Currently fingerprint on my S9 and Face ID on my iPad.
