Hi guys,

I'm new to iPhone and got the iPhone 4 on Thursday. I'm not having any issues with the device except that the battery seems to last only about 12 hours and it gets very warm, especially within the last 30-40% of the battery.

Should I return it and get a replacement or is there something I may be doing that could be taxing the battery?

Few calls, short calls though. Few texts, couple of apps. Sometimes open the odd app for a few secs. Nothing I can see that could drain it? Or atleast not something that's obvious to me...

12 hours of standby? Are you using it non stop for 12 hours like watching videos or something?

Hmm, if that's all you're doing than that isn't normal. I would make an appointment with the Genius Bar at your local Apple store.
