New to JB... Need some more help?

Hey all...


I am new to IP4 JB and have a few questions. I have used jailbreakme.com and successfully JB my 4.01 IP4.

1. Post JB can I still use the Apple App Store?
2. If so, can I still plug in my IP4 to my PC and back it up for Apple App Store backups, contacts, mail. settings etc.
3. For apps I buy on Cydia - how do I backup those apps?

Are there any other links for good beginner guides for this all...

Thanks for your help. The pre and post guide was very useful... a few more questions to those with far more knowledge. I have not yet JB as I had a few more questions...

1A. When I download apps on Cydia - what do you guys use to back them up?
1B. Do users have a Cydia account? If so, how do I view mine?
2. If I am currently on 4.01 - post JB can I update to FW 4.1 whilst staying Jailbroken?
3. To confirm post JB that I can still sync with Itunes correct?
4. Any others things to do before and just after I jailbreak?

And if you don't use PwnageTool, then you do have to lose your JB temporarily to update to official Apple version update, then re-JB once you know its safe.

No problem. And don't forget to save the SHSH signatures when you jailbreak. You can either click "Make My Life Easier" in Cydia or use TinyUmbrella.

The SHSH signatures are used to downgrade or restore when Apple stops signing that iOS.

Kayan - so do I use Jailbreak.com and then upgrade my firmware to Apples 4.1 and then use Pwnage tool - any links or instructions... thanks - i appreciate it

Iclarified.com has very trusted tutorials http://www.iclarified.com/jailbreak/ youtube also has some good ones but I would stick with Iclarified youtube can be hit or miss.

Psst - I have Tiny Umbrella downloaded but can you explain it a little bit more for me.

This will give you a better insight on the SHSH signatures http://theiphonewiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=SHSH

When your iPhone is connected, open TinyUmbrella and click "Save SHSH".
