I am getting a Macbook Pro 13 inch soon. Ive never had a laptop before, and therefore do not have a wireless router in my home.. I know that this laptop comes with the Airport Extreme, but does that mean I need to buy a base station in order to get wireless internet? If so, what do I buy? Thank you!

Yes, you need to buy a base station. For ease of setup, go with the Apple AirPort Extreme base station.

You need to get some kind of wireless LAN router to have your internet connection being broadcasted wirelessly before you can use your MBP's Airport functionality.

It doesn't have to be Apple's Airport base station, but it sure helps avoiding conflicts to have one brand of products.

The fastest I've used is the Airport Extreme base station. Incredibly easy to setup, and very fast.
