I recently just ordered Logic Express, as I outgrew Garageband, and I had some questions.

I don't need Tutorials if you're not able to, a simple "yes" or "no" would suffice.

Can Logic Express 8 do this:

1. Create your own virtual instruments (ex. Customized Strings)?

2. Assign my own samples to a M-Audio Trigger Finger?

Also, do Logic projects have the same reverb and echo added to it by default like Garageband's master track?I'm trying to relate the Logic interface to Garageband's and it's difficult.

Thanks for any help.

1. Yes

2. Yes, logic has a built in sampler callled exs24, with the trigger finger acting as a midi controller

You have the ability to assign effects etc to each channel including the master. There are also preset channel strip settings which add a number of different things together like eq, compressor, reverb etc etc.

I don't really recommend adding any effects to the master channel, learn to get all your individual parts sitting well in the mix.

Also give yourself head-room, you don't want any channels clipping(going into the red)

Thanks for the answers.

I can't wait to play with Logic once I get it!
