Hi,

I am new to mac and recently began using my roommate's wi-fi connection. Oddly enough, on MY computer under Users...my name is listed with "Admin, managed" following it. I am the computer administrator and sole user of my computer. Is my machine being 'managed' by my roommate? He writes technology, so knows his way around computers extremely well. He has almost no social life and is VERY nosey. I do not want him accessing my computer. Is this what's happening? The whole 'admin, managed' thing worries me.

Thanks

I would say that you have parental controls enabled. Go to system preferences and look under the parental controls option - if your account is listed in there, then this is why it states 'admin managed' :)

Yep... that is definitely because parental controls has been enabled for that account. To remove it do this...

1) created another admin user
2) log in as that user
3) unchecked the parental controls box for the 1st user
4) log out, then logged back in as the 1st user
5) delete the 2nd user
