New to Mac, iPhoto question

Hey everyone, very new to Mac and I have a question with iPhoto. I loaded in all my pictures and everything went smoothly. I want to know where those photos are now stored?

I like to physically backup my photos from time to time so where can I find them when I want to copy them to my portable hard drive.

you can find your iphoto library in Users->Pictures->iPhoto Library.

Easy way to backup is backup the iphoto library file. It's a single file with all your photos .
