New to mac - issue with bluetooth mouse

I've connected a Razer bluetooth mouse to my mac, but whenever I physically leave my Razer mouse behind it looses connection to my laptop and I have to re-sync and add it back. Is there a way I can stop this from happening?

I also have a magic mouse that I don't want to use, but it seems to be able to re-connect by itself when I'm in range again. I'd love for my bluetooth mouse to be able to do this too
