Hello me and my wife are new to mac's i just purchased one after her laptop died. So far we are loving it with one exception the mouse. We currently have VX Nano works great didn't require any software to run but the back button isn't working on mac and it did on windows. I figured i needed the software package to program it or whatever. Downloaded the mac verison and installed there are several options button wise in the software menu and i see back as an option. However no matter what button i assign "back" to it doesn't work. Are there any tips or tricks i am missing, please help.

thanks

Have a look in system preferences under mice and keyboards. If you've downloaded the drivers/software from the website it may have installed an option in system preferences.

Also make sure you have downloaded the correct drivers i.e. for Intel Mac

You downloaded the logitech control center preference pane, right? Make sure you also choose the modifier to be "command," see screenshot:
