Hi everyone. I just bought a 24 inch imac. I love it. I will never go back to pc.

Anyway I was wondering if you all could recommend your favorite software.

I am open to most categories. I have browsed the mac site but i was kinda overwhelmed. So far my favorite download has been Candybar. Candybar provides an easy way to set up custom icons and docks.

Thank you in advance.

Aside from the programs pre-loaded on the Mac, here are the ones I use most often:

Firefox
Photoshop Elements
VLC
Office 2008
Fusion

Enjoy!

Spotify for free music streaming.
doubleTwist for anything that is incompatible with iTunes.
VMware Fusion for running Windows beside my Mac.
Photoshop (depending if you need it).
iWork or Office Mac.
AppCleaner to remove any junk while removing an application.
Adobe Air platform.
Firefox.
The list goes on... The more you use your mac the more great software you discover :D

A few more that I didn't see mentioned:

1Password for managing logins, web forms, identities (I use it daily), works great along with the 1Password iphone application

PandoraJam for recording & saving Pandora streams to iTunes (includes some simple tags too)

Netflix viewer (might be Microsoft's Silverlight product) for watching movies

Meteorologist for weather

ClamXav (because I respect my friends who use windows)
iLife 09
iWork 09
Quicktime Pro (adds cut-copy-paste and other goodies to QT)
App Zapper (for deleting apps)
Cyber Duck (ftp)
Nikon Camera Control (to tether my Nikon)
Silverkeeper (backing up)
Little Snitch (security)
Evocam (security)
iStopMotion (for clay-mation movies)
Rapidweaver (web sites for dummies)

I agree. Do we need another one of these threads? To the OP, welcome aboard and all, but there's tons of these threads here on the boards already.

The search function is a great thing. Use it wisely. Now would be a good time to use it wisely lol.
