New to mac - want to try ichat

Hi, I'm New to mac and I want to try ichat.

I already subscribed to me.com

but the problem I don't know anybody who has an ichat account

Can anybody add me "removed" so I can try the ichat.

but when i try to add a buddy, my choices are AIM or MAC

Yeah it's weird. I just select AIM when I add google or hotmail. However, sometimes it doesn't always work. It's best if the other person IM's you. that way there's no fuss. AIM works best tho. Do you have any friends with AIM?

iChat is pretty awesome. I use it only for when I want to video chat with my deaf friend. It is very responsive and sharp Love it!

Can I use iChat without having a mobile me account? Trying to figure out how to video chat with my parents, so they can see my 7 month old baby...neither of us have mobile me accounts (infact my parents are using a PC). Any ideas? Thanks.

Use AIM or Google Talk. Both free to sign up for. and universal on Mac and PC

Good program, won't do video or audio chat though.... And file transfer is iffy at best..
