New to mac why is my internet so slow?

Hi all im new to mac, just trying to figure out why my internet is so slow, i have window and my pc is fast as im on 10MB, even my iphone is quite quick but my mac is terribly slow browsing pages and downloading do i need to change setting somewhere? just got mac so dont know anything about it.

When asking for help, you must do more than say that you have a problem. You must also give some relevant information:

• Which model Mac?
• Which version MacOS X?
• Which version of which Internet applications?
• Which ISP?
• How are you connected?
• What does SpeedTest.com give as your download speed? upload speed?
