new to mac

Hi im new and want to chat to friends and i was told you cant use msn messenger.
so what can i use..
I need help thanks

Adium is generally the most recommended MSN app - http://www.adiumx.com/

I've got Microsoft Messenger for my Mac. It comes with Office, which obviously does cost you, but I got mine for free through staff discounts in a company I don't work for. Gotta love rorting the system.

If you want something free and easy, Trillian is an all-in-one Messenger program. I haven't used AIM or ICQ in years, so haven't used Triallian in a while, so there may be something better out there now, but it's worth a try.

Messenger for mac 7 does the job fine for me here.

Its free, but does not allow video chat, voice, hand drawn messages, winks and several other features.
I never used them myself, but alternatives do offer support for them.
I tried adium, but it just seemed like a pain to setup imo. (im picky about how things look)

I also recommend Adium. One of the best OS X apps, and in my opinion, one of the few class apps in all of computerdom.
