I have owned or used several iPhones and a few iPads but I have never had a MacBook. I was able to get a MacBook Pro from a friend for $100 was told that it worked. He didn’t have a power cord to it and battery was dead so I didn’t get to check it out until I got the mag plug charger for it turn it on and at first I didn’t get anything from it but after some research I finally got it to come on as described . But I’m still not getting anything on my display. I hit power and it seems to be coming on since the sleep lite comes on stays solid help me please

If you have access to a monitor you could try to plug that in and see if the computer works but the display is broken. I have used laptops as servers, i.e. headless, so if that is of interest you may get something out of your 100 dollars.

„Why did you say get my $00 back? I can tell that it’s turning on and I have done some research on the display problem and it seems to be a recurring issue with that model. It’s a model A1226. Any idea as to what I should look for or at? I’m getting a DVI cable and plug it into my tv just to see if I get some kind of picture.

So if you’re still hardware is it the navidia chip that I have been reading about? If so shouldn’t Apple have to replace it?“

@daviddan1: Please post messages in this thread not on my profile...

Your MB warranty is long gone. 10 years ago! Why do you think Apple should do this?

Funny how great minds think alike lol. I was planning on doing something like that only I was going to hook it up to my tv. I know that it’s turning on because I can hear it starting up. Not much different than a windows laptop. But the screen doesn’t revel a thing as to just what it is trying to do. It’ll even go into sleep mode after a few minutes of inactivity. So I am going to get a DVI to HDMI cable and see what happens. I do appreciate you taking the time to read and suggest because I not nearly as familiar with Apple as I am with Microsoft
