Hello guys, recently purchased my first ever Mac (Mini M2) after working 23 years with Windows.

I've connected the Mini via Ethernet to router. The first setup of the Mini went through WiFi (didn't had an Ethernet cable then).

Now, I can't figure out how to make the WiFi do not connect on the router.

In router settings I see that both ways are connected.

Thanks guys for the fast answers.

May I ask with the WiFi turned off my wireless HP Color LaserJet printer will continue working?

If connected to the same router.

You’re correct. Tried it at the office and worked flawlessly with the WiFi off.

Although the AirDrop don’t work when the wireless is turned off. So, the only solution is to keep it on and just forget the wireless network.

All my issues are solved. Thanks everyone for the fast replies!

In case you didn’t know, you can have both Wi-Fi and Ethernet active at the same time, and you’ll just have two IP addresses for your mac. You can set the priority of those via the Set Service Order command in the pull-down of the Network panel. So you can have your Mac prefer its Ethernet connection but still have the wifi connection available for those services that require it, like airdrop, unlocking via your watch, etc.

Today I learnt something new. Thanks! I’m new to macOS and I have spent many hours Googling and watching YouTube videos but didn’t came across this tip.
Will give it a go tomorrow when I’m at office and report back.

Just found the Set Service Order, great tip!

I have Private Relay enabled. Should I enable the firewall too?

I think most people say it isn't really needed for the average Joe, but I don't think it hurts anything to have it on unless it specifically interferes with something else, like gaming. I've always had it on and haven't run into any problems because of it.

Thank you, I'll give it a try. I don't play games.
