So I got a MacBook Pro last Christmas. I mainly got it for stuff like art and design. Although, everything I've found is way over my head and quite expensive. I'd rather not pay for something I have no idea how to use. I've been looking for basic and free applications for stuff like music (I'm not a big fan or garageband), animations, and editing software, and I've yet to find any. If any of you know of any free and basic applications that could help me get some more experience with things in those fields I would be so grateful! :)

Thank you all in advance!

For photos, give iPhoto a shot. It might seem a bit "cliche", but it actually is a pretty solid program.

Audio, on the other hand, is a little more difficult. Aside from "Audacity", there aren't very many good free Audio programs to choose from. Hopefully other users will have more input on this, as I tend to fall more into the graphical area of things.

As for animation, you might want to try Blender. It's got a pretty mean learning curve, but if you figure it out you'll absolutely love it. I've seen results that beat out Maya animations by far.
