Hey, im completely new to audio recording on the mac, i got my mac in aug 08 and have a TASCAM US-122 and a Shure CO1 condenser mic- the software i have is logic express 8.

I have installed the tascam software, turned off the internal mic, plugged in everything correctly (i think), and still nothing is getting recorded.

I will show pics if i need to for those who may be curious.
Please help. Thank you.

I have installed the tascam software, turned off the internal mic, plugged in everything correctly (i think),

1) is Phantom power enabled? You need that to power a condenser mic.

2) Try recording an iPod. Plug the iPod into the Tascam's line level input and see if you get sound.

3) do the audio output ports work

4) What does "system Profiler" (about this Mac) say? does it show up at all in the list of USB devices?
