Finally set up on my new MBP 2011, coming from a Tiger system. Someone gave me an external HD to repair, and three things:
1) I've noticed that Tiger shows less free space than Leopard on all external drives.
2) Tiger shows more hidden files than Leopard does after inputting the same command (defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE) - at least with the busted drive.
3) The Finder on SnowLeo freezes up while indexing and I can't navigate, but on Tiger it's fine. SnowLeo also froze after DiskWarrior, but was fine on Tiger.
Can anyone help me out here and explain these discrepancies? Thanks so much!
