Hi there, I found these at a recycle crate outside of an abandoned shop in my city yesterday, after 6 trips on my bike back and forth I got it all home.

I don't know much about Apple products, while I've previously had a a faint interest in some of the older stuff. Remembering some of it from school etc, I've not really acted on collecting either. But this find, being free seems to be as good a start as any. ;)

Of what I found this is the following:

Keyboards and peripherals:
1 desktop Mouse
3, two are different from the other, all though one was missing one keycap I later found the cap in the waste crate.

Displays:
Apple Cinema Studio Display 21"
Apple Portrait display
Apple 17" Display
Supermatch HighRes 20 (not Apple I think, but seems Mac compatible)

Computers:
1 Powermac 6160/60 "pizzabox":)
2 Powermac PPC/servers(?) (there are still two more I might go back and pick up.)
1 Quadra 700

I'm trying to do what I can with my limited knowledge about this.
So far I've removed the battery from the 6160/60 and Quadra 700 until I can order replacement ones.
I'm trying to test each monitor, but I either can't get it to connect or display anything (Studio display 21")
Or don't have the suitable connectors to the displays. So far I've tested the Studio Display 21", and Portrait monitor, and at least they do power on.

Other than that my girlfriend and I, who are both into retro tech, will try to use this as a learning experience, but any help, pointers on what do to, if there's any way to connect it to more modern connections such as VGA etc while I try to test the monitors to see if they work etc would be appreciated. :)

You would need an HD15 Male to DB15 Female to connect an old Mac Monitor to a PC. Like this one.

I'm totally jealous of that find. Too bad that Apple Adjustable Keyboard is missing the palm rest and accompanying numpad. Some of those items are pretty valuable.

If there is more stuff in there. Get it. Even if you don't want it. Sell it on eBay. Better than them ending up as scrap or in a landfill. Even non-functioning they'll get something. Well busted monitors that size won't. Except maybe the Portrait Display. Hopefully you find the other parts of the keyboard.

Even what looks like an opened up computer. If a Mac or really old PC. May have parts people will want.

For sure, I got one more Power 7100/66AV from the crate tonight, that looked "complete", the two others I assume are another 6160 and 7100
Compaq just tagged along for the ride. :p

Kudos, that you've managed to transport that 21" CRT on a bike - especially if "bike" stands for bicycle.
(I called a friend to give me some help to move such a colossus out of the car into our house)
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, that some of the machines will boot up and give you fun!
It's a great find and that old stuff is worth the effort to be preserved, but it also might be a curse (or a great adventure), if you've just started from the scratch and then solving one problem leads to a couple of more issues.
Congrats, cheers and thumbs up!

Thanks, and yeah, I took each piece home on my bicycle, using a duffle bag, and fastening it to the frame using belts, my bikelock, etc.

I don't think most of this is in working order, Quadra 700 is missing RAM and ROM chips, but on the plus side I managed to salvage some RAM and ROM chips from the junked units. That can be used on the 7100 and 6160

Monitors:
It's a bit scary to test them but so far:
Studio display 21" power on, and seems to work, just don't have anything to connect it to.
Supermatch 20": Powered on, but started emitting a somewhat high pitched whine, I know CRTs do hum, but this seemed abnormal. A bit scared to test further. Might test out on the balcony free from furniture later.
Portrait: Powers on, no funny business.
17" Apple monitor: Turns on, instantly turns off| Something seems broken.

I went back to get some more, Not much left now so this was my last trip there, I think.
Got an ethernet adapter, display cables for the Supermac 20" monitor, (BNC I think?)

Another discette, and what's left of an 840 Av (poor girl.)
I could only recover the rear panel. And some of the guts the rest was smashed to bits, but I can use it for parts.
Let me know if you need this panel, I'll send it if it's possible to send where you are.

There was also an Audiovision 14"
But that looked beyond saving, broken housing, quite possibly damaged monitor connectors, etc.

Poor thing😢. My dream computer from back in the day was an 840AV with the 14AV display. Funny thing is I still think of it as a powerful computer. Even though I know it's slower than the processor in my router. I'd love to own one but the collectors market has made them insanely expensive.

Good thing is people will want any good parts. Especially something like a drive sled, bezel or functioning PSU. Even the rubber feet.

That AV display may be worth salvaging. Even smashed up. If it functions. Someone will want it for parts. Why let it rot in a landfill. If someone may be able to revive their dead AV display.

Yeah, you may have a point there. I'll see what I can do tonight. :)

Allright. So I went back to get the Audiovison 14" monitor. It's in a pretty horrid state visually. But it may still work.

There is stuff loose rattling in there, but I'm fairly sure that is the plastic pieces from the shell that's fallen inside when breaking. Does it pose any danger to powering it on, as long as internals are fine?

Among those I found there was a 6160, 7100 and 8150 actually. :D
Haven't checked on the 8150, but it should have a HDI port.

And yeah, no kidding, the plastic on some of these is more brittle than fine China...
Especially some of the little brackets and stuff in plastic, snap off like nothing nowadays.

The total list of computers from this find is the following:
9500/200
8150/10
7100/66AV
6160/60
Quadra 700

Anyway, I've not taken pics of the 9500 much, so here goes:

It's mostly complete. Overall pretty good condition for a dumpster find.
There's some damage to the little plastic brackets on the back, but that's no biggie.
I do need to find a new panel for the cd drive slot though. This isn't the correct one, and it falls off pretty easily.

Wow, nice score.

That top keyboard...looks like a really rare model that as I recall, came with the Color Classic. It swivels in the middle to change the angle.

Those G3 servers were rare birds.

It didn't "come with" the Color Classic, it was just often used next to one in advertising. It's the "Apple Adjustable Keyboard" - and a "full set" would have the numeric keypad (which is physically separate and uses an ADB cable to connect to the main unit,) and the wrist-rests for all three "parts" (counting the swiveled-out halves as separate.)

While definitely uncommon, they appear on eBay regularly, and usually sell for $100-$300 depending on condition and accessories.
