Hay,
I am going to be in the UK on the 14th July, will I be able to walk into any Apple store and buy a new 3G iPhone and take it back to Thailand with me?
I actually need 3 phones but not sure if I can do that:):):)

no one knows, but probably
although the iphone hasnt been unlocked yet so it wont work
and you may not be able to buy 3

What about the cost, has that been confirmed yet????
It will also be cheaper for me to buy the phones in the UK and wait for someone to unlock them, iPhones in Thailand are 300 quid:D:eek:

the iphone 3g will be at least £300! (for you)
you MUST by pay as you go, otherwise you need to sign a contract in store. and pay as you go costs £300

BS....................You can walk into an Apple store right now and buy it for 260 quid, and that Jobs guy says that they will be +/-100 quid, I was just wondering if it was going to be 80 or 120 quid.

BS
the iphone is no longer for sale
it will begin being sold again on the 11th july, with the new iphone 3g

and to prevent unlocking by people like you, who then take the phone out of the country, you need to sign an 18 month contract at the time of purchase, in store - this gets you a phone for between £0 and £160 depending on model/contract

as im sure you dont want to buy a phone on contract when you are leaving the country, you wont be able to buy the phone for £100

therefore you need to buy the pay as you go iphone, which is £300

Dont go saying other peoples posts are BS until you have the facts right

8GB £169
16GB £329

pay as you go prices...
those are not pay as you go prices. the pay as you go prices were announced, and then removed, with the 8gb being £300. also, neither of those prices are the contract prices so i dont know where you got them from...

apple stores won't be selling the iphone as it can only be sold on a contract at o2/cpw stores to start with.....

Here and here

you'll have to search a bit for the second one. but you won't be able to walk out of the store with a free iphone, with o2 hoping you'll activate it on the £45/75 tariff

Why do I get the feeling we're all feeding a troll

ndwgolf, this has been covered before. The prices Jobs quoted were assuming you connect on a 24 month contract. You'll need to buy the PAYG iphone.

yep, i work with o2 and its 100% sign instore, all the card 'proposals' that people signed have been replaced with 3 layer contracts.
