New Ultra 2 arrives today! Overload excitement! I presently have the 4. Are there reasons for doing an upgrade path vs new? I have no cellular plan to worry about.
Will the cardio fitness numbers correct themselves over time? I have tried clearing and resetting the stats many times!
EDIT:
Well, went the new path, but from what I see, everything is the same! It did walk me through all the features though.
Thanks all!

Upgraded from S7 to U2 some weeks ago and used unpair-pair procedure. Restored from backup. Worked great, no issues.
Have fun with your new watch, it is amazing.

setup as new and use it as an opportunity to learn about the new settings/features ...

Went from 4 to Ultra 2 also. I had cellular plan on the S4 which switched over fine. Treated the Ultra 2 as a brand new and worked great. Looks like my medals or stats came over from the other watch, but I really never pay attention to those and am not a "collector" or anything.

I’d treat is as new. Apple watches don’t store that much personalised data inside each one. So installing as a fresh new watch would be a really good option, also to avoid the bug here and there that sometimes happen with restoring backups

Fair point. But taking your argument, one could start with the easier approach and in case there are issues still switch to the approach to set up as a new watch. Not much time would be lost.
