New uMBP colors don't "pop"

It seems like the contrast needs to be turned up or something. I can't figure out what it is, all the colors just seem a tiny bit faded. Is there anyway to fix it?

make sure the gamma version is 2.2 rather than 1.8 under Displays>Colour>Calibrate.
