So i just purchased a 13" UMBP 2.26ghz. I have my old HDD from my Macbook(2.0ghz Core Duo), its a 3k320 Hitachi, and i would like to install it into the UMBP.

I already know how to physically install the HDD into the new computer but i need to know how to get the old information. The HDD was uninstalled with all the existing information still on it, but i also backed it up using Time Machine. I do realize that it will probably will not work properly as-is in the UMBP due to different drivers and other stuff.

I don't follow, if you've already backed it up w. TM what do you need from it?

If I've read correctly, put the 320 drive in the MBP, boot from restore DVD and reformat/erase then install software onto drive. After it loads, boot from HDD & use the migration asst. option to copy everything from TM disk via USB or FW.
