I could not find anything on the "The unofficial "I'm Waiting for Arrandale" thread"

So what's the trend with the new MacBook Pro prices when they come up, they usually stay the same with the new upgrades or Apple will bump them a couples hundred dollars ?

I'm looking for either high 13" or low 15"

Thank you

they will not keep the prices the same, not after being attacked by microsoft for being to expensive. they will most likely remain the same

i would think they'll be about the same. i suspect this is part of the reason apple is taking so long to introduce the updates. hardware keeps getting cheaper to minimize the loss in margin on these machines.

If they will stay the same as today I will probably jump on the 13" with $100 OFF with my school ID.:D
Then I get AppleCare before the year ends.;)

If you are patient, wait for the back to school promotion and you can get $100 off (for being a student), a free ipod, and a free printer.

Really ? All the stuff ? I'm not a student,I work for a College,still can get the promotion,the ID doesn't say: Student/Employee etc...

Thanks you

Yup you can get all that stuff for free...

i think it starts sometime in summer(not sure) and ends in september.

Not at my school,I've been there long time and never seen any "Mac" event.:)

The students have their own laptops i.e. PC/Macs...

Can I get at the store producing a College ID ? On the Apple site says for faculty and students, this could be only for the $100.00 discounts or all the promotions ?

Thank you

You have to buy either online at the education store on apple.com and in an apple physical store. And yeah its been every summer for a few years. I college ID or a school schedule is all the physical store requires, and online, they audit sales from time to time, and a copy of your ID should be enough.

here is my plan

Like you I am waiting for the update, but I plan on ordering from powermax.com, I opened a forum and no body gave me anything concrete that was bad about them but I did get posative feedback. they don't charge sales tax and they have free shipping, and if they keep the promo going you also get a free 2 gig flash drive.
