New updates for macbook pro?

hey, im looking into getting a macbook pro and was wondering when the next major updates in software or hardware will occur. i heard that apple may install blue-ray player/burner into their comps, so before i spend $2,800 I'd like to find out when any change will happen. I was thinking of buying early in the year 2010.

Arrandale (new CPU family from Intel) is coming out soon so MBPs may see an update in near future. You said you'll be buying it in early '10 so I'd wait for new models

I'm in the same boat. I originally got an early 2008 model (the one with the faulty GPU) and I've been waiting ever since. I've decided that I'm not buying a MBP until they have Blu ray and a full HD screen (on the 15 inch) quad core would be cool but not at the expense of battery life.
