When I visited CNET's download.com a few minutes ago I was presented with an all new "Get a Mac" video ad in the advertisement bar on the top of the screen. (I have included screenshots from the ad below.)

The PC starts out in a depressed crouch saying Why--WHY--WHY!!

The Mac then says "PC--Why what?" PC then starts complaining about why upgrading to Vista has been so bad for him.

The Mac tries to calm down the PC while the PC walks over to the wall (or possibly a banner) at the edge of the ad and hits his head on it.

The commercial video ends with an image of an iMac and the phrase "No upgrade nightmares" and another phrase that says "See all the reasons why you'll love a Mac" that links to: http://www.apple.com/getamac/.

I've never seen this ad before so I am assuming that it is brand new since I've tried to keep up with all of the "Get a Mac" ads.

That's a great one! :D I thought I read somewhere that it was posted on YouTube.

Just getting Dell ads on download.com, can't see it on YouTube either.

Link anyone?

You must have some funny cookies, I got the ad at the link.

"These banners are hard". Classic.

I like the way Apple is tailoring the ad for the medium.

1. You start off with the option to turn ON the sound in this ad.
2. Breaking the fourth wall

Wow that was the best banner ad that I've ever seen.

It's a good ad but it's a shame that they never actually showcase their products at all. I appreciate that with the iPod they never have to because there are so many around that someone you know is bound to have one; maybe it's just difficult to learn to appreciate the joys of using a mac (aside from the eye-pleasing design) without actually using one.

There's a banner ad on the pcmag site too. I can't do fancy presentation but the gist of it is PC saying hi to all the pc users and telling mac he must feel out of place here, and then mac quotes reviews from pcmag. Not funny but at least it hi-lights the critical acclaim that macs tend to receive.
