While it's cool to have that info if you're a veteran or a military history buff, why do I want to pay $1 for something I can look up for free just as easily on Wikipedia or somewhere else?

I'm not trying to bash your app or anything, but I just don't understand these reference apps that charge you money for info that's freely available elsewhere...
