New user - Photos question

Hi all,

I‘m new to Mac OS and have a question regarding the Photos app. I’ve used it for years on iOS and have many pictures and videos in my library. Some videos are 4K captured from my LUMIX camera then uploaded. My iPhone and iPad are set to keep the original in iCloud to conserve space on the device so I set my Mac the same way. Problem is, when I click one of my 4K videos it plays in 720p. How can I play these videos in 4K without actually downloading them to my Mac?
