New user profiles have strange characters on new MBP 2018

When I create a new user profile I see these strange characters, the main initial profile is fine.



Any ideas what is causing this?

Don't know cause, but those charecters seem to indicate a font is missing/not found for some reason.

It seems to be a fonts issues, What language did you choose, English?!

Definitely a font issue, I had this, and its an easy fix if you can identify what font its being used and restoring it from a backup

Yes I chose English. Brand new install, just created a new profile on it.

A moot point now as I sent it back anyway
