So here's my problem.

I love my mac to death, however I game on it in bootcamp too. Here's my question.

I feel screwed buying a 8800gt off ebay for $200 when I can get a brand new EVGA 9800GTX for $140 off newegg... and I started thinking, I really don't NEED a powerful video card for OX X... I mean I don't game on it, I'm not into 3d animation work, I just need something that can decode and encode video... I already have a pair of 2600's

So could i just buy a 9800GTX and stick it in the 2nd PCI-E of my mac pro, I know it won't work in OX X but then i'd just unplug my main monitor and plug it into the 9800GTX when I wanna run Vista?

or am I just crazy?

Is there a better way to do this? I just want more graphics performance than a 8800gt can offer...

thanks!

You'll need power cables to run the 9800GTX, but yes, you could run a 2600 for OS X and another card for Vista.

So there arn't any other video cards you can like 'make compatible' with os x though?
