Can I use any mic for ipod, or do i have to get the belkin one from apple.com?

Try a regular mic. I don't know though. It might need that special adapter like the remote has to work. I hope the belkin one is good enough to record shows (replacement for a cassette recorder).

i'm pretty sure it's only that one, as part of the functionality is the speaker, so you can sample and manipulate voice notes. any other mic would not provide this.
