If I heard correctly the Apple Watch cellular will be supported by 22 cellular carriers rather than 4 previously.
Did Apple put a listing of the carriers I couldn’t find anything
?

A listing was displayed during the keynote .... I spotted Vodafone as an additional for the UK. Although I thought there were certainly more than 4 previously?

Nope the UK only had EE which was due to the masts having a higher technical ability

Looks like Vodaphone have had time to upgrade in the last year unlike O2 who are adamant they will not support Apple Watch which is a big loss for them

I think most of the issues with the networks is adding the ability to utilise the esim and 2 lines off 1 contract, EE had that in place prior to the release of the S3, and Vodafone probably began investing in the tech following the S3 release so then when the S4 came out they were ready, such a shame 3 aren't moving on this, had such a good thing with them, looks like i'll be moving to EE for my S4 and sim only deal.

Where did you read it was to do with masts ?

I think folks, like myself, where hoping for some MVNO's such as Cricket, MetroPCS and Boost here in the US.

I do not see any technical reason why an MVNO could not support eSim.

That is an interesting question as too how the AW will work with the new dual sim iPhones.
