I have just purchased an Apple Watch Sport. I'm on the fifth try at downloading the WatchIOS 2.2. All seems to go well until the program goes into the "verification" stage at which time it seems to stall.
I've determined that my iPhone is up to date with the latest IOS, reset the network setting on my iPhone and cycled my modem off and back on. As I sit here typing, my iPhone seems to be stuck on "verifying". This is a refurbished watch purchased from Amazon. Should I send it back or is there something I've missed?

The verification process on the watch updates can take quite a bit of time, so leave it be for a while and ensure the watch and phone are in close proximity, that the watch is on the charger, etc.

If there's no progress after 15 minutes, try restarting both devices and going through the process again. Lots of people seem to experience very slow and quirky watchOS update processes - it's a bit hit and miss unfortunately.
