New White iPhone, scratch on the back

Can I take it to the Apple store and get it swapped out? I bought it from AT&T (Online).

If you're lucky! They might think that the scratches were caused by you. I assume you're still within the exchange window with ATT as well, so if the apple store doesn't work out you can exchange the phone through ATT.

I received the phone today, so it's within the 14 day window

I called them both and AT&T said I can exchange it at their store.

Should I switch to black? The inevitable question

Do you care about tiny nicks? If so then stick with white, black is very susceptible to nicks even when taken care of. A case won't help because the smallest bit of something gritty will get in there and wreck havoc.

I'm a designer and I have a case of extreme OCD.

The first scratch is always painful, but then you welcome it.

I did read a lot about the black scratching easily due to the anodized aluminium. I'll just stick with the white. I like the back of it a lot.

The front of the black is really nice though.

I'll get this replaced on friday since AT&T is closed tomorrow.

Got the black and pretty happy! Dbags at the AT&T store charged me a restocking fee so I called AT&T when I got back home and they refunded me the amount towards my next bill.

I did like the white, however, had my doubts. The black just feels nice. I don't care about dings, I'll just try to be a bit careful. I am not going to get any cases, I think it makes it ugly.

Hey Dave , did they exchange you a brand new one or was it a white box replacement ?

They gave a brand new one, sealed. Activated online at the store and they said they can open it for you and everything, I said no I will do it at home

I figure, what's the point of cases anyway? If you're a clumsy person, fix your behavior and look after your investments.

Either way, if the phone is damaged or what not, by the time I want a new one, the iPhone 5 will be refurb for $50-100 and I'll just get a new one
