iPod touch New White Ipod Touch 32gb

So, I went to Walmart this morning to buy the new white ipod touch 32gb. When I asked the salesgirl about it she had to get a manager who told me they weren't going to start selling them until 12:01 am tonight. I questioned why since they are already on sale today at Apple and Best Buy today. The only answer I got was that if they weren't out on display then they weren't on sale. I honestly don't think he knew. So, I walked out and went to Best Buy and bought one. Anyone else experience this?

Yes, I tried to purchase a video game on release day, which by the way was heavily promoted to be available at this specific wal-mart, amazingly none of the employees had any idea of the promotion nor any copies of said video game. Probably my mistake to even go there knowing electronics is not their primary business.
