Was at the MS Store yesterday - they got the new XBox 360 systems in. They unboxed one (4Gig + Kinnect bundle) for a first hand look.
Note there are changes.
PROS: Nicely built and solid. Easy access to hard drive bay. Looks like just a box from the pics but a combination of shiny and matte panels along with decorative vents makes it look nice. Done well for a "box". Layout for ports are convenient.
CONS: Major - no more XBox 360 A/V port. It has been replaced with an A/V Mini plug for Composite Video/Audio (like on a portable DVD player) and has an HDMI Port. That means no more hooking up via the older XBox 360 VGA or Component Cable.
I looked online and specs for the new box has it having the 360 port - this is not true.
Bummer for me, as my home theater is wired for Component (from an old projector - to expensive to rewire for HDMI).
I guess you can use the HDMI to Component video converters that are out (I have one for my 2nd gen AppleTV).
