Hello!

I've got a new iPhone XS today and it's on iOS 12.4: should I update to the latest 13.1.2?

I'm worried about worse battery life and bugs in the music app (I use it a lot everyday).

Any experiences about updating?

Thank you so much!

You won't have dark mode, but you still have 3DTouch the way it was meant to be...also no bugs, so it's really up to you if dark mode and whatever security patches are worth it....I kind of wish I hung onto iOS 12 a bit longer tbh.

Thanks! Honestly I don't use 3DTouch at all, had it disabled on my iPhone 8 and now too... and dark mode I don't care about it that much.

Thanks again!

I’m updated on my Xs and I’m not having any issues with bugs or battery life. I’m interested in knowing what kind of bugs people are seeing that have posters wanting to go back to 12.4.

A variety of people have a variety of experiences. Hard to say what it will be like for someone specifically.
Battery life between iOS versions can be easily compared by the same user. Bugs may be reproducible.

But what one person will experience with their decide won’t necessarily apply or apply to the same degree or manner compared to another.

I restored to iOS 13 and set up as new. I lost about an hour of screen on time. I've always monitored my battery usage very closely. Went back to 12.4.1.
