My daughter just purchased a new iPhone XS. We declined to have it set up in the store and instead started the update process from home. We're not stuck on the software Update. It's been stuck at the "Update Requested" phase for over 30 minutes, so really nothing is happening. What can be done to prod this along? The phone is unusable in this phase.

I think you can try to restart the setup process.

Hit volume up then volume down (press and release, not hold) then press and hold power till the Apple logo shows.

It's working now. I had to erase the phone and start over. Now it's progressing. I wonder why it got stuck.
