Apple's next Apple Watch Activity Challenge is set to kick off on Wednesday, January 1, with Apple Watch users able to earn an award by closing all three rings for seven days in a row in January.

Let’s start 2025 off right. Earn this award by closing all three rings for seven days in a row in January.
Apple Watch owners will need to fulfill their stand, exercise, and move goals for seven days sequentially at any time during the month of January to get the New Year's award.

As with all of Apple's Activity Challenges, the New Year challenge will be accompanied by an award that can be viewed in the Fitness app as well as a series of animated stickers that can be used in the Messages app.

Apple has hosted a New Year challenge for many years running now, and it is one of many Activity Challenges that the company offers throughout the year to encourage people to meet their Fitness goals.

Was there a Thanksgiving one this year? I walked for ~ 2hours but I don’t have an award.

Can you still get 7 days “in a row” closed if you mark Sunday as a rest day?

Not sure. You can pause your rings for a day, but I’m not sure if that will count as a 7th day for purposes of this. However, you could temporarily lower (“Change for Today”) your three goals to 10 calories, 1 exercise minute, 1 stand hour so it’s basically the same as a rest day.

Last one I got was 2020.
Interesting, now I seem to remember but those were fairly easy ones, for me at least, so I should have gotten them, but, not a single one showing up for me in my history list. But then again all those badges are somewhat out of whack anyways …

Might be a silly question, but: Where are all the one-off activity challenge awards? I know I have many (over many years), but I cannot seem to find any of them right now. Did they get moved to somewhere else during a recent update?

I can find everything else (workout rewards, Fitness+ rewards, monthly challenges, etc.), but not the National Park Day Challenge, the Yoga Day Challenge, the New Year’s Challenge and such.

It was a 5K on Thanksgiving. You can see them on the watch by going in to the Rings app, then scrolling down to the Limited Edition Challenges.
